In our new house, we have this gorgeous room that I like to call a drawing room, but the name “red room” stuck with it. It’s not hard to guess why - it is painted in this brick-like moody red. I love the color but thinking of changing it up a little bit, so here is my design plan for a drawing room.
When I first saw this room, I fell in love with the charming wooden stove in the center. Unfortunately, the insurance company contacted us a few weeks later and told us we needed to build a hearth around it. I’ve done a herringbone pattern DIY brick hearth around it, and I love it so much! I think it fits perfectly into this room.

Here is how the room looked before we moved in:
This is a mood board for the room. It’s still a work in progress, but I like the vision.
I like the color of the room, but it needs refreshment. Also, I’d like to paint the shelves and trim the same color - I guess I got a bit obsessed with the unified monochrome theme after I painted the library blue.
I had already bought the couch and these gorgeous chairs and impatiently waiting for them to arrive. With the backlog, it might not happen till spring.
I still need to find the piano, and more importantly, to figure out how I can move it ;D
I scored this gorgeous painting at the local auction and love how it fits in the space.

This will be a formal entertaining place, and I hope the white furniture will stand the test of time.
