My husband has the most boring job ever - he works in a bank ;D Like many other people in his field, he prefers practical, purposeful gifts. Over the years I’ve got him so many cool things that now I’d love to share with you 30 gift ideas for bankers that they will love and use.
I could write a long list of fancy luxury gifts like a tailored suit, Ferragamo shoes, or a super expensive belt. But let’s be more practical and on the budget. Think thoughtful presents for him that won’t break the bank.
Note to my husband: this blog contains some gift ideas for this year, so if you want an element of surprise, stop reading now 😄
Being a type-A personality, bankers want to be ahead of everyone and do everything the best. I've got a year's subscription for the Master class a few weeks ago and couldn't wait till Christmas to give it to him. Oh my, what can I say? He’s been so excited about it and already halfway through Wine Appreciation class from internationally-renowned wine critic James Suckling. We learned so much about wine, how to choose it, where to store it etc straight from the horse's mouth. That's what I love about master class - each class is taught by a leader in the field. So far I watched Anna Wintour's class on creativity that my husband had no interest in because let's be honest, it’s quite obvious who is the creative brain of this family 😄 Next one on my list is Neil Gaiman's class on the art of storytelling.
With over 70 classes you can learn how to play poker, creative writing, how to cook Texas-style BBQ, how to write short stories, how to professionally do your make up or to direct a movie. The list is so impressive that the only problem you'll have is which class to choose next. I think this is one of the best gift ideas for anyone. It's thoughtful, smart, encouraging to learn and act.
Bankers travel a lot for business, my husband is not an exception. Traveling is already stressful enough. Imagine worrying about your shirts that got wrinkled during the travel time? And you have only a few minutes to change before a client meeting... not so ideal. This absolutely awesome convertible garment duffle bag saves the day! It has a special compartment for the suit and shirts in the way that you can lay it flat before putting other items in. It also has a side pocket for shoes. Brilliant! Functionality meets design. It’s been so heavily used last year by my husband that I’m debating to get another one so he can rotate them.
I think there aren't too many people who aren’t fascinated by his family tree and don't want to know where they come from? I did it a few years back and discovered that besides the majority of Slavic roots I have 3% Scandinavian and 5% Asian. Who would've thought ;D
This is one of the presents for Christmas 2019 and I can’t tell what reaction my hubby will have but I’m sure he will be amazed. Don't forget to check Ebates for cashback. I got an 8% cashback on this purchase.
Ok, I’m not sure what kind of coffee is served in the bank where your partner works, but mine complains about it all the time. After extensive research, I got this coffee machine that seems to be the best in the affordable market. It has a timer, so you can literally time it for 5 minutes before you arrive at the office to have a freshly brewed coffee for the beginning of your workday. It also has a 12 cup capacity so you can share it with your colleagues. This coffee machine was so good that we left it at home and got another one for the office. And I can say that it's not an understatement that this device completely transformed my mornings.
Your banker probably wears an expensive watch, but he surely won’t turn off the idea to wear a Fitbit to track how active he is throughout the day. It is also a great motivation to leave that desk and start moving. Win-win by all the books, it makes it a perfect gift idea for bankers.
As seen on Shark Tank, I think it’s a great invention. You can keep it in the office in case you have a client meeting and need to shave really quickly without making a mess. Yep, you guessed it - we have 2 of those. It saves my sanity at home too.
During harsh winters, you still need to look presentable without sacrificing your health. Good looking vest won’t hurt your look but will keep you healthy during cold days. I love this ultra-light down vest that doesn't make your suit bulky and super comfortable and warm. Plus it is so thin that it packs very lightly and could even fit in your pocket.
A classic gift that always is used and appreciated. I got my hubby this awesome set with a bull and bear and he absolutely loves it!
This one made it to the gift guide on the advice of my husband ;D You need to be very precise with the length of the socks and get nothing else but long socks that don’t fall down. My husband also told me that colorful socks are somewhat in fashion, although he prefers to stick to classic and one color.
All men love functional gadgets. Bankers would especially appreciate this gift since no one can afford your phone discharging in the middle of some heated work situation.
This thing looks divine! Wireless Charger looks so stylish that it makes a wonderfully practical and beautiful gift for a banker.
POCKET SQUARES, TIES, TIE PINS
Pocket squares, ties, tie pins: there are never too many. Good ties can get pricey. My husband doesn’t wear anything besides Hermès and Farrigamo ties. 💁🏻♀️ Nordstrom has good sales in the fall usually, plus to bring the price even more down, I usually use Ebates to get sometimes up to 15% cashback from Nordstrom. Usually around November Nordstrom runs this promotion and I never miss a chance. It’s such a great platform. This year Sacks OFF 5th ave ran a sale for Ferragamo ties and I score one for $99 (and also got %15 cashback from Ebates)
All those fancy ties need a proper place to be. We don’t have one yet but I’m planning to get this one for Christmas this year. It’s so perfect and functional, I can’t wait to have all the ties in one place instead of being randomly located in our house. I also found this cool travel tie storage that could be an amazing present as well. What a wonderful gift idea for a banker!
Oh, I already got 2 sets of these cool collar stays over the years. Just can’t get enough! You can personalize it with a special message, an inside joke, or motivational words and I guarantee this gift will be so well received.
You can put there a clean shirt, clean socks, toothbrush, extra charger, small tubes of everything for those times when he has to go immediately on a business trip and doesn't have time to come back home. And don’t forget his favorite hair gel!

Upright go is an incredible gadget to help your posture. Good posture - less back problems - high level of productivity. Hard to say no to that.
Depending on your space at home, you can organize a workstation so your hard-working banker could spend more time at home. It doesn’t have to be a full office space but a couple of big screens, a powerful computer and he will be over the moon.
If he wears a suit every day he can’t have a massive wallet sticking out of his pockets. This super-smart SECRID slim wallet not only thin and beautifully designed but it allows you to slide out your cards with one simple motion, ready for immediate use. This is a must-have for any busy man and a wonderful gift idea for a banker.
My husband rarely carries cash but this money pin also looks super trendy and functional, as an alternative to the flat wallet.
This smart gadget basically solves the problem of having all important things separately. With a passport holder like this, you'll never lose your passport since it will always be with your phone, and the chances you will forget your phone somewhere are so slim. Not sure how it works exactly since we never had one but it is something to explore and will be one of the Christmas gifts this year.
Well well, did you know how amazing it is? Fill out the form, and drag his ass to get it done. He will thank you later.
During long working hours in the crowded office, the noise cancelation headphones sound like a dream. I’m sure it gives a boost to your productivity as well. We’ve tried a couple of brands but the ultimate winner is Beats Studio3. The price bites a bit but when it comes to gadgets and electronics I believe you shouldn’t go cheap.
Kindle with his favorite book instilled in it. Book it the best gift one can receive. For the busy banker that already carries a lot of stuff around Kindle might be just the right thing. Install his favorite book on it for a nice touch.
As magazines become more and more outdated, some will never go out of style. Like GQ for example. Not only it is a bible for man style, but it a super fun also read to stay on top of the trends.
I have one of the privacy screen protectors for Mac. When I used to travel a lot in my previous life there was nothing more annoying than people that sit next to you on the plane staring into your laptop to see what you were doing. I can only imagine what you feel when this happens to a banker and he is working on a live deal on his computer. I’m getting it for my husband this Christmas.
This one was a special suggestion from my husband (I guess that’s a hint of what he wants for Christmas). He said that he needs an alphabetized notebook to use to put down notes from the meetings to keep his client database. I found this one on amazon and it will look perfect in this handmade leather journal.
This is one of the presents for this year. It seems that everyone is going crazy about this device that allows you to download all photos from your phone to one USB stick. Sounds brilliant! No more worries that your precious photos will disappear
Remember I mentioned a nice watch that your banker already has? A nice watch needs a nice stand. This handmade watch stand combines functionality and a beautiful design. All the things we love here. I’m not including watches into gift ideas for bankers since I believe in the superstition that you can’t gift a watch.
Life is not only about work, but it's also about balance. And nothing can be more rewarding than making something on your own and then drinking it ;D Uncommon Goods is such a perfect place for unique presents and some really cool ideas. I think this is my #1 place for fun gifts. In the past, I've got beer brewing kit, gin making kit and thinking to do try making our own wine or absinthe this year ;D
