One room challenge continues and now I understand why it's called a challenge. Haha it's been certainly challenging. Here is a recap of what we've done so far.
Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4
The plan for last week was to paint the screened-in-porch, change/ fix the screens, change the door and find outdoor chairs.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on my side and it's been raining the whole week. I'll have to finish all of this on the weekend to stay on track for the reveal on week 8.
I couldn't find the outdoor chairs on the Facebook marketplace. And they are so expensive to buy in stores! After the patio was cleared and I could take a better look at it, I realized that I'd rather have an outdoor sectional, instead of two separate chairs!
That means that I had to draw a plan for the custom sectional, to fit into our space. Which I did! I used the rainy time to work on the vibe of the patio a little bit, to better fit the new space.
Change of plans and new direction
I also decided to make a different coffee table.
As at my previous design, I planned to make a mosaic table. I'm still sticking with the mosaic table, but will make it in a different style.
I recently got obsessed with this TikTok trend and decided to make one for myself. Who would've thought that delivery takes so much time? But I already ordered the tile. I found this perfect yellow color square tile and it will look fantastic in the screened-in-porch!
I also decided to add more color to the porch, and not stick to the natural palette.
There definitely will be more blue, yellow and white! Let's see how it will turn out!
This is an updated moodboard. Let me know what you think!
Tile coffee table. Love the look of the squared tile!
Portside Outdoor 2-Piece Chaise Sectional. Love it but it's so pricey. I'll make something similar.
Denim cushions. I feel if I paint the screened-in-porch white then natural cushions would look weird, so instead, I got these gorgeous denim cushions.
That's it for this week! I'll start working on the sectional on Saturday! Stay tuned for the progress and don't forget to follow me on Instagram, where I post daily updates.
xoxo,
April
