handmade natural advent calendarThis beautiful handmade natural advent calendar is an amazing addition to our Natural Christmas theme. It's is so minimalistic, raw and peaceful that I might be tempted to keep it after holidays are over.

It was incredibly easy to make, considering I already did most of the work and reused the same envelopes that I used a few years ago on another DIY advent calendar.

This year all I had to do is attach envelopes to a cotton rope with tiny clothespins. I absolutely love the simplicity of this handmade natural advent calendar. Does it inspire you to get yourself some nice minimalistic advent? Will you try to make your own advent calendar this year?

Since we are going down the memory lane, here is an advent that I made last year and also was so excited about.advent calendar

What to put in an advent calendar?

I like to go a bit crazy with advent calendars for my husband and kids. Last year I made a simple advent calendar for my 2-year-old daughter that had small gifts and little presents in it. But the idea to have only one advent with material goods didn't sound right to me, so I created another - crafts/activities advent for a 2-years-old.

I didn't finish Advent calendar for a 3-year-old yet but hopefully, it will come shortly.

For my husband, I like to create either beer advent calendar, whiskey samples or sort of date night adult version - anything to have an excuse to have fun ;D

If you are interested to see what kind of adult date night advent I made for my husband last year, you can find it here.
