HOW TO MAKE A SIMPLE VINTAGE RECIPE BOX

I'm sure everyone has that one friend (or maybe a few) who is fond of cooking. This DIY Vintage Recipe box is super easy to make and will make an excellent gift to people who love to cook. It is a perfect storage solution for many recipes and can be customized to your liking.

To make this rustic box I used this simple recipe box from Michaels and an old spoon that I found in a thrift shop. You will also need a few other materials:

  • Minwax oil-based stain (I used a mix that I had of Weathered Oak and Provincial)
  • Sanding block
  • Superglue

Instructions:

  1. Sand the box with a sponge and stain it inside and out. Let it dry. I put a few coats to make the box darker.

2. Bend the spoon and attach it to the box with super glue. Let it dry.

3. To complete this present package, I needed some cute recipe cards. I found this set on Amazon and I think they are a perfect addition to a rustic look of this recipe box.
