It's unbelievable this is week 7 of One Room Challenge already!

In a week I'll have to reveal this screened-in-porch transformation and I still have so much to do!

If you'd like to catch up on previous weeks and the progress that I've made, you can check here.

I think this week has been the most productive so far! So what did I accomplish and what's left? Let's start from the beginning!

Painting our screened-in-porch

Finally we've had a lot of sunny days and the weather allowed me to paint the whole patio.

I had to remove the trim on the windows from outside first and get rid of old fiberglass screens.

For the paint chose "simply white" color by Behr. I love how this color compliments the green outside and brightens up the whole screened-in-porch.

As usual, it took me so much longer to paint the whole room! I thought I'll be done in an hour. (What's up with that illusion that I could paint any room in an hour?😂)

After it was painted, it looked so much brighter and happier!

Reminder how our patio looked few weeks ago

Installing fiberglass screens

We already had fiberglass screens, but they went bad after so many years of use. We are renting this house for the 3rd year, and I don't think anyone changed the screens before we moved in. Most of them were torn apart and desperately needed to be changed.

I complied 😀

The process was relatively easy. The only difficulty I faced was to take out the brad nails from the trim. I reused the old trim boards that were on the windows, and they had a lot of nails that had to be removed. But nothing crazy!

I learned a trick how to remove nails from the trim the easiest and cleaner way. Take pliers and pull them out from the back. This way, the front will stay intact.

So much better!

I still have to fill the holes and clean outside but at least it's covered!

Building outdoor furniture

The most exciting part of last week is that I started working on the outdoor sectional! The couch is almost ready. I still have to finish the back piece and the front square ottoman, but it's getting there!!!

The sectional as of now

I also made a DIY tile table that was inspired by TikTok. I absolutely love the color of the tile and it will look just fabulous with the blue pillows that I ordered.

On the other exciting news, last night I decided to build an outdoor console! (Talking about working under pressure haha)

I tried to find something used but didn't see anything I liked. So then I thought this Portside outdoor console with a cement top from West Elm would be just perfect to match the sectional!!! Right???

I've never done anything from cement on a big scale, and I'm so excited about the challenge!

I already made a plan and planning to go tomorrow to pick up cement and materials for the mold. I'm pumped!!!

Update: I finished this outdoor console table a few weeks later. You can find a tutorial with plans for the base and how to make a cement tabletop.

Isn't it lovely?

It's been a busy week but my excitement is through the roof! Can't wait to see what other participants will come up with.

Stay tuned for next week's reveal post!!!!

I'm sooo excited!!!!! Are you?

xoxo,

April
