This year we decided to have Natural Christmas decorations - ditch all the plastic, store-bought stuff and decorate our house with natural materials. Let me show you how the final result looks like.

I absolutely love the serene feeling that green and white bring out of the place. Books with the warm white fairy lights add so much magic to the whole picture. I wrote how I convinced my husband to take down TV in the living room and how to make this book wall here. Noone regrets it so far and I'm so excited every time I need to change it for a season. The book wall was only up for a few months now but already lived through few transformations, like this one for fall, or this one for Halloween. But back to our wonderful natural Christmas decorations!

It reminds me of Scandinavian Christmas, perhaps the stockings make it look more minimalist, natural and overall just simply exciting. My husband wanted to add some color, so I added those few red branches on the sides, but I love just simplicity and minimalism of this Christmas mantel. After all, I'm the creative brain of the family, so my husband made peace with this simplicity ;D

CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS

I think white felt stockings play the center part to help archive this clean minimalist natural Christmas look. I haven't used a sewing machine for a while and was quite excited to get on to this project. I think the stockings turned out absolutely lovely! Do you agree? I wrote a step by step tutorial about how I made them here.

CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS HOLDER

To hang stockings I couldn't use the box from previous years. We've got a new family member and I had to add one more hook. So why not make a new set, right? The great thing about these stocking holders that I could add another one at any time (unless I'll decide to go with a different theme next year, you know, always up for a change, just need an excuse). But it's perfect this year and I can't stop enjoying them. You could also attach the wooden houses to one plank but I love them loose. It gives me more freedom to decorate between. And the most amazing thing is they are so easy to make, you can finish it in 30 minutes and I show you how here!

WINE GLASS CANDLE HOLDERS

The idea to make those came very spontaneously but I love how they turned out. You can add so many different themes in there. I have a polar bear, a snowy house, cork Christmas trees with presents. You can create whole worlds inside the wine glass. And the Epsom snow salt adds so much charm to the snowy picture. I described in detail how to make them so you can decorate yours.

To complete these natural minimalist Christmas decorations I added a few branches of the pine tree behind, some pinecones that I found on our backyard and fairy lights that brought up the magic of this winter mantel.

NATURAL CHRISTMAS WREATH

This natural Christmas wreath is not only absolutely stunning but also completely for free. Learn step-by-step how here.natural Christmas wreath

PAINTED FESTIVE BOOK STACK

It could be great decor for the side table or as an accent on an entryway table. Very simple and stunning!

April, I just ran across your blog on Pinterest and I absolutely love this. My favorite part is the books with fairy lights on them - I can't tell what it is, but it looks absolutely beautiful! Fantastic job!
